Students will learn that a pet is a living friend who depends on you EVERY day — food, water, exercise, vet visits, training, and love — and that being a great pet owner is a promise for the pet's whole life, not just when it's fun (NCSS/state social-studies: responsibility, caring for others, citizenship at home).
